MailChimp is free for up to 2000 students.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are lots of tutorials on how to use this service.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 2- Send Communications in 1 Shot\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal is to send 1 message to your entire list.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This could be to let them know:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Class schedule&nbsp;<\/li><li>New lessons<\/li><li>New feedback<\/li><li>News <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 3- Present Your Lessons in 1 Place\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal is for all of your students to see the lesson in 1 place.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having it in 1 place reduces confusion, increases engagement and allows students to comment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For teens and adults, the ideal solution is a Facebook Group.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We don\u2019t teach young learners, so please feel free to suggest an alternative for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 4- Create Your Lessons\u00a0\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Present\u00a0<\/li><li>Practice<\/li><li>Instant Feedback\u00a0<\/li><li>Task <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Example<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Present<\/strong>&#8211; Here\u2019s how to write an introduction.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Practice<\/strong>&#8211; Here are sentences for an introduction. Please put them in the correct order.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Instant Feedback<\/strong>&#8211; Here\u2019s the correct order.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Task<\/strong>&#8211; Write your own introduction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 5- Present Your Lessons\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Facebook Groups allow you to either stream your lessons live or pre-record your lessons and upload them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most efficient way of doing this is to create your lesson on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.co.uk\/slides\/about\/\">Google Slide<\/a>s, share your screen and go live.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This can feel daunting at first, but you\u2019ll soon get the hang of it.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 6- Notify Your Students\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Email a link to your students via MailChimp.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Facebook will notify your students there.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Set clear timelines for when you want the tasks.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Make it clear when you\u2019ll give feedback.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, let them know when the next lesson will be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step 7- Give Feedback\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Three options<\/strong>: <br><br>1. Global feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Individual feedback.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Group feedback. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Global Feedback\u00a0<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Make another lesson that focuses solely on feedback.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Look at:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Common mistakes&nbsp;<\/li><li>Good examples&nbsp;<\/li><li>How to fix common mistakes&nbsp;<\/li><li>Next steps&nbsp;<\/li><li>Further reading etc.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Post this in the Facebook Group and email to all students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Individual Feedback\u00a0<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.loom.com\/\">Loom<\/a><\/strong> is a great tool for this.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It allows you to share your screen and talk to your students while giving them feedback.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They have made this free for all educators. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Group feedback\u00a0<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Use <a href=\"https:\/\/zoom.us\/\">Zoom<\/a> to get everyone into a virtual room together and give feedback.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What if your teachers aren\u2019t ready?\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Pick a small number of teachers who you think would be comfortable creating online lessons.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Pick 1 or 2 teachers to handle the tech and\/or admin.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The rest of the teachers can focus on feedback. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"873\" height=\"337\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ieltsadvantage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1711920\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ieltsadvantage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/image.png 873w, https:\/\/www.ieltsadvantage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/image-300x116.png 300w, https:\/\/www.ieltsadvantage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/image-768x296.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 873px) 100vw, 873px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You can check out how we teach online by checking out our I<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieltsadvantage.com\/\">ELTS Materials<\/a>. <br><br><br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Many of you will have students sitting at home during this crisis, and we thought we could help by showing you how we teach our students online.
